Spirituality is an important focus of hospice care. The VNA S-C recognizes spirituality as broader than traditional religion, as it is an accumulation of hopes, thoughts, feelings and principles that shape a life experience.

VNA Hospice's non-denominational SC works with patients and families who choose to include spiritual care in their hospice plan to guide and comfort them during this time of change and challenge.

As a compassionate and caring professional, the SC is a non-judgmental listener who allows patients and loved ones to find their own paths to peace and acceptance.

The SC also arranges visits based on the family's religious preferences and assists them in understanding the patient's situation.
